SPREAD THE WORD!
We have been having huge storms nearly every afternoon…they usually knock the power out for a few minutes…but not this time. We have had no power since YESTERDAY and I am LOSING IT. Our house is a virtual steam oven and I CAN’T WORK! I have TONS to do and all I CAN do is read by the window, or sleep. Now we have the generator hooked up but still can’t run all the equipment I need to do my job. ERGGGHHH. So I’m just venting…THANKS FOR LISTENING!!!!!!!!!! (Yep, I’ve cracked up).
I had a customer ask for a tiara tee for her daughter who is Miss Freeport (I think it is a town in Florida) and she needs a cute tee to wear to various events. I made her this design…and thought, well, that’s kind of cute…maybe I could make tees for all towns…little miss Knoxville etc. But then, what if there are REAL little miss Knoxville’s, or Tampa’s or whatever? We sho nuff don’t wanna go trampling the hems of bunch of hard won beauty titles!! So, I did the 12 months of the year instead…afterall, what little princess doesn’t want to celebrate her birthday all YEAR long? Which crown will you wear?
Thanks to each of you who take the time to send kind notes and precious pictures. We couldn’t do this without you!
Head on over to http://www.clarabelleandthehen.com to order!
And if you’ve ordered from us previously and your tees didn’t wash as well as you’d hoped, all that has changed!
Our tees wash beautifully, and yes, you can throw them in the dryer!
The art stays vivid and beautiful for the life of the shirt…we promise.
Order quickly…we will be out of the office at the end of the month
so all July 4th orders must be shipped by next Friday.
And June is a big month at our house. First of all, we have to knock out ALL of our summer vacation in June because in
July I will not leave the sweat shop except to sleep on rare occasion; home show season ramps up again, and Garnet Hill comes out…YIKES!!!
Then, there is H’s b-day, AND MINE! Woo-hoo. We kicked the month off with H’s baseball camp, then we went to Charleston
which was the beginning of H’s birthday celebration. Nana treated us to a day at the Aquarium…
Smmmooooooccccchhhhhhhh
and his favorite ice cream cake. YUM.
We hung at the beach of course, and hubby and I even got away for 24 hours of alone-time at Kiawah (thanks bro!)
“me and my shadow”
How cute is this swimsuit? I LOVE it! It is from Three Mama’s…
H-Man turned into a lobster the first day we were there. He had 14 layers of sunscreen on and still got fried…so we had to tacky him up!
Ahhhh…nothing like a little mud bath to cool the burn…
I hardly took any pictures on this trip. I was feeling so burned out all I wanted to do was sit and read. I hardly even WALKED on the beach!
Just sitting at the beach erases all worries and stresses…it’s magic that way.
The next week the kids did Vacation Bible School and had a great time…as glad as I am that they got to do it,
I have to say, the driving kids to & fro is hard on the work schedule!
This weekend was ROUND 2 of H-Man’s Bday!
The much hyped “Giant Burger” party.
If you aren’t familiar…I had a “contest” on Facebook to solicit birthday party ideas. Everything from Laser Quest to backyard camping was suggested…but the winner came from Kathleen in B’ham…a giant hamburger for supper , a sleepover and cotton candy for breakfast.
Henry was all about this idea…”this lady is CRAZY!” he said. That’s the party for me !
We had a baseball cake…I think H has finally determined that’s “his sport”.
Sassy wasn’t about to be left out. She inserted herself into the mix right from the start…who cares if all the guests were 9 year old BOYS?!
This is Coleman. After he, his two brothers, and 5 other boys arrived, they had a massive water balloon, water gun battle.
This is Aiden…about to catch the zip line to the other side of the yard…
Charles, from Henry’s soccer team…
Miles, refilling his ammunition…
Charles again…
And here’s Henry after it was all said and done.
(Hey! I was trying to make a giant hamburger and take pictures at the same time!)
I wish I’d gotten one of wacko-daddy running around with his t-shirt tied around his head in the thick of the fight!
This is the bottom part of the giant bun…hey, it aint pretty but you try making a bun the size of an extra large pizza!
Clara learned how to blow up tiny balloons…there’s real power in ‘them chipmonker cheeks’
and it became the compulsion of the evening…
STOP!
If you are a vegetarian, DO NOT VENTURE BEYOND THIS POINT!
Don’t say I didn’t warn you…gnarly, huh?
(Note the caprisun package for scale. Ha. This burger aint’ no joke.)
We started out trying to do this on the pizza stone in the oven, but the oven caught on fire…
And as you can see…so did the grill 🙂
meanwhile…
Still at it.
Next we added the entire jumbo package of cheesy goodness…
and…yep, still at it.
MMMMMMM. (Yeesh)
Ha ha. (Mom, I know you are laughing out loud, aren’t you?)
Ta da!!! The giant…burger? I think that’s what that’s supposed to be. I think it weighed at least 15 pounds…
Coleman said he could eat the WHOLE BURGER, no problem…but he didn’t even make it through his SLICE.
And they still had room for cake and icecream…
Now…a Wii break…to digest a minute…
a dance-off on the deck (and yes, I participated)
the swings (yep, that’s a 9-year old boy in a baby swing–the same one riding the toddler trike above)
the trampoline…(and miraculously, everyones supper and dessert stayed down)…
Then we set up a movie “screen” on the deck, and the boys settled into their sleeping bags with popcorn and watched a flick
At last…with bribery of the promise of a big surprise in the morning, they passed out on the screened in porch…
Bright and early they were up watching cartoons…
and then the BIG SURPRISE…COTTON CANDY for breakfast!
Sorry henry…I TOLD you to put a shirt on!
We ended up renting a machine and spinning sugar right here at home,
and me, in my sleep-deprived stupor didn’t take a picture of it ):
THEN they commanded REAL breakfast…that’s when Fun-Kathryn went away and MEAN MOMMY took over. Ha.
I made buscuits but when they asked for bacon and eggs I told em’ to get their own mommies to make em’ some bacon and eggs. GEEZ.
Then I cleaned up caprisun packages, gatoraid bottles and 200 water balloon remnants from all over the yard and went back to bed!
and when I woke up I ate giant hamburger leftovers and icecream. MM.
H’s REAL birthday is Wednesday…and then mine 2 weeks later.
Trouble is, I’m too pooped to party anymore.
Happy 9th Bday H-Man. I love you!
Thanks to Mary Katherine for sending pics of her precious children in our tees 🙂
That’s Rosemary, Loie, Cecilia, Palmer, Jelks and Laura Katherine! (They don’t all belong to the same parents…they are cousins 🙂
