I grew up in the lovely peach state…jaw-jah that is. Columbus (no, NOT Ft. Benning, and REALLY not Phenix City, former home of the mafia, so they say. Get out your maps boys and girls, it’s in ALA-BAMMMA, albiet, you can get there by crossing the worlds shortest (and rickety-est) bridges ever built….but still.) Anyway, I digress.
So…always said I was going to grow up to be a children’s book illustrator (hasn’t happened yet, but there’s time, right? I do have one in the hopper though so stay tuned.) Took art lessons from the talented Geri Davis from junior high on…AP art in school…so pretty focused ON THE DREAM. ha. My bff Ginger (aka tin grinnin’ gin) and I spent hours apon hours sketching in our little hardback black sketch “books”…the usual pre-teen fare, cheerleaders, gymnasts, girls with the knockers we hoped we’d someday get (hmf. lost that lottery.) Listening to Sargeant Pepper’s Lonely Heartsclub Band courtesy of the Bee Gees, and the Grease soundtrack (doesn’t get any better than that my friends).
And then off to Auburn (yes, Alabama) to major in…well, what else? ART.
So there’s more, but I can see the bottom of my coffee cup, and that’s a bad thing. So…as Arnold would say…I’ll be BACK.
I guess my lengthy note didn’t make the grade! Anyway, congratulations on your beautiful kitchen and your recent fame. Wow! I’m impressed and can’t wait to show “my girls” your websit. Tried to order cards, but I’m not sure I did it correctly.
KGage: Great to hear from you and thanks for the card. We’re so bad at the cards. O well. Yup, Nov and Dec were pretty bad at the company, but hey, I had 17 years at the coolest gig in town with the coolest people. God, I’ll miss em. Hope you’re fam is great and that hunky Wildcat NH boy is treatin you well. Looks like you have a great gig here with your company. My two guys Jed ( a sophomore at Cheshire Academy in CT, and Kyle , a freshman at Clark University in Mass) are both good. I’m hitting the job circuit hard. Hope to see your beautiful smilin face again soon one ‘o these days. Best, to all and keep in touch. Chris

I always said I wanted to be a children’s book illustrator as well. I have a couple that have received lovely rejection letters but I am not discouraged yet. I have other ideas.
Lovely blog and design work! Best of luck!
I don’t think I ever responded to your nice note! Keep plugging away with your art…everything is subjective. Some won’t appreciate it, and others will LOVE it. Thanks for your nice comments…best, K
just got my daughter’s “k” shirt for Kylie! Love, Love, Love it! Saw it online at Garnet Hill and had to have it along with the skirt! I will certainly be asked where I got it and will pass along your info…thanks and best wishes!!! Also thanks for the personal note of thanks with the order – a really terrific touch!

Thank you Chris! So great of you to take the time to write
I too, MUST have the skirt to go with a tee for my daughter…is the skirt as cute as it looks online? We are excited to have our tees and water bottles in GH, and even more excited to have nice customers like YOU!
